San Carlos

San Carlos is a township and head city of the district of San Carlos in the province of Panamá Oeste, Republic of Panama. The town has 3,578 inhabitants (2010). In this city is the largest commercial and economic movement of the district, standing out as the place where the main public institutions, hospitals and authorities of the village and the district are located. The territory borders to the east with the district of San José, to the west with the district of Las Uvas, to the north with the district of El Espino and to the south with the Pacific Ocean. In its geography run 3 rivers of which the main one is the Matahogado from which the aqueduct of drinking water of the village is supplied. The road distance between San Carlos and Panama City is 98 km. Its main communication route and the means that connects it with the rest of the country is the Pan-American Highway that crosses its geography from east to west.
